Born: 1941
Self-taught artist He was commissioned in Indian Army in 1967. During his service he utilized his spare time in drawing and painting as hobby and studying the works of great artists of the world. He was the highly inspired by the work of PadmaShree Sabah Singh, Michal Angelo, Van Gogh, RembrandtRenoirMonet,and IvanSiskin. The periodical National Geographic was the incentive to master in color combination and layout. His placement to different territories of our country provided him lot of nature study.
Karam Jit took premature retirement from Army in 1992 and since then he devoted his entire time in Art studies, visiting world museums & practicing in his studio at home. He did a course in Art History & Conservation from National museum New Delhi. He exhibited his work in India & abroad. He has participated in various exhibitions.
